123 of 210 : Carl

We’d sing the night away at Friends, our favorite piano bar (there was nothing Carl couldn't play, but he loved the old standards best). At 2 we’d go dancing at eXile, then around dawn head to Au Pied du Cochon in Georgetown, where we’d unfailingly order lobster and fried eggs.

This makes me DC-nostalgic.

Tim recently framed an old Clyde's poster of mine that hung over my bed during college. It's now here in my office, big as life. Donkey and elephant in suits, toasting each other, donkey with a beer, elephant with a martini...

Great descriptive link to the old Au Pied du Cochon... See also my Tom at

I remember seeing that poster in Clyde's! I didn't go there often, but it was fun.

And Tom was right.
