55 of 210 : Harvey

While I enjoyed the film of Torch Song Trilogy, I think the play was better. But I’m biased: I got to meet Mr. Fierstein after the performance. He was wearing bunny slippers, and he signed a copy of the script for me. He even put bunny ears in his signature.

Was this in DC? Where and when did this happen?

No, not in DC, it was during the show's run on Broadway (but after its stint at its original Off-Broadway location, La Mama). Probably 1983 or 94. No Matthew Broderick, alas (he was David before Broadway), but I got to see the wonderful Estelle Getty as Mrs. Beckoff.

How frustrating. I made a typo in my original comment, couldn't correct it, so I deleted it. Now it says "comment deleted" instead of just disappearing! Grrr!
